A Major Seminary of the CMI Congregation





A full-fledged Study House of its own outside Kerala had been a long cherished dream of the CMI Congregation.  Search for a suitable location where the students would experience a wider exposure had been launched way back in 1950’s by the then Prior General Rev. Fr. Maurus Valiaparampil.  The foundation stone of the proposed Study House was blessed by His Eminence Eugene Cardinal Tisserant, Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches at Prior General’s House, Kochi, on December 8, 1953.  The prolonged search for a site ended with the purchase of a plot in Bangalore on March 23, 1955. more>>
